The Mommy Shoppe Registration does not require proof of financial need, because we believe all families benefit from lower clothing costs and our community benefits when we recycle. We do have a few guidelines:
1) ONE grocery bag of clothing PER CHILD, free each month. This also means if Mom and Grandma/Aunt, etc have both signed up for the same child, we simply ask that among you, there is only enough clothing taken to equal one bag. You are always welcome to purchase additional items. 2) ONE coat, pair of shoes/boots, swimsuit (and other like items) be taken per child/per month. These are items that we do not receive in larger quantity, so we ask that you keep it to one per child, so that as many children as possible can receive these items. 3) Recycle as your child grows out of things. There are lots of other children who can use what doesn't fit your little one anymore. We appreciate our families who donate things their children have outgrown. 4) Volunteers: The Mommy Shoppe is staffed entirely by volunteers, who do all the work of sorting, tagging, and hanging donated items. Normally, we welcome all volunteers. Currently, due to Covid safety precautions, we are limiting volunteers to our core group. INFORMATION: If you are contacting us as a representative of an agency, please call us at 814-499-2287 or by email at: themommyshoppe@gmail.com. Please understand that if we do not immediately answer the phone, we are probably at our jobs. We are totally staffed by volunteers at this time. We will return your call as soon as we possibly can. Please leave your name, number and agency you represent. If you wish to make a donation of clothing, please schedule an appointment. Monetary donations may be made to: The Mommy Shoppe c/o 1320 Houserville Rd - State College, PA 16801 or by clicking the DONATION button here. We thank you for your support! |
